There are 6300 people in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Gateway Area Chapter, including Phelps County, who live with MS daily. MS is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves.

Donna Kreisler and Katie (Frisbee) O'Malley will be walking 50 miles in 3 days to help fund research for this chronic disease. For $3 you can help them reach their goal of $2500 by donating and wearing your jeans in support of finding a cure for MS on Friday, April 9. Contact Donna Kreisler to find out who the building coordinator is in your department.

Nomination forms for 2010 Staff Excellence Awards at Missouri S&T are now available. Nine outstanding Missouri S&T staff members will receive Staff Excellence Awards this year. The awards are intended to show appreciation for and recognition of staff contributions to the university. The awards will be given to staff members who have made significant contributions to the university through a combination of job performance, relationship with their associates, and dedication to Missouri S&T.

Students, faculty and staff can nominate an outstanding staff member. The deadline for nominations is Thursday, March 18, 2010. Nominations are welcomed and encouraged from everyone.
