Open Forum, Monday, May 19 at 11:00. Chris and Mindy Limback met with Chancellor and finalized agenda. Chancellor asked about morale issue. Chris told him in his opinion, part of low morale was contributed to salary and wage, displaced employees due to the reconstruction and the name change. Send any other factors on the low morale issue to Chris. All members need to be present for the Open Forum. As members, we need to be visible.
Patty Fleck, Director of Counseling and Disabilities Support Services and Coordinator of Relay for Life for Phelps County gave a presentation on Relay for Life. The Relay for Life is a community fund raising, all night event that will be held August 2 & 3 at Lion’s Club Park. Relay for Life is dedicated to eliminating cancer through research, advocacy, education and service. Patty is recruiting teams of 8 to 15 members which require a $10 entry fee. The county goal for this year is $150,000. Patty asked SC to help get the word out concerning the relay and to fight cancer by being aware, spreading the word, fighting back, serving on a committee, volunteering or, contributing financially. All proceeds from Relay for Life go to the American Cancer Society which helps fund the Phelps County Area. SC will sponsor another Dress Down Day in July with proceeds going to Relay for Life.
New Business:
Open Forum – what still needs to be done.
Mindy still needs door prizes. Nina and Debbie will hand out info at the door, slips for door prizes and Q&A cards. They will also bring Missouri S&T table drapes from Admissions. Dean will bring ink pens. Wade will get volunteers to help collect Q&A cards. Mindy Limback will present survey results. Chancellor and HR director will respond. All questions will be answered at the Forum or posted on SC’s blog. Mindy distributed presentation for comments.
The staff development survey was discussed. Amy needs to know if she can include this information in the re-accreditation process. HR is to support any development training. Chris will e-mail Shenethia, HR Director about the development survey to get her thoughts.
Staff Week:
Perks Fair will be on June 2 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Havener. Chris and Cecilia will coordinate. “Dunk you Boss” on June 3 coordinated by Mindy Limback.
Staff Day:
Melissa has agenda for entertainment and awards ceremony. Dean, Charlotte Lewis, Melissa, Amy and Chris will meet tomorrow on the awards ceremony and the entertainment program. The floating award for staff excellence was discussed. The award will be given to the runner up with the most years of service. Goody bags will be delivered to departments the Thursday and Friday before Staff Day. There was one complaint on the design of the Staff Day Shirt.
Self Study Re-accreditation Report:
Amy brought SC up-to-date on the status of the self study re-accreditation report. She also had questions on the timing of sending out the Staff Professional Development Survey.
Chris met with Shenethia Manuel and she will appoint an HR member to SC as an ex-officio member.
The question was raised if the four campuses could combine their staff survey results. This may have been done informally and that is where the top five action items for ICSC to review were derived from.

ICSC – met yesterday. Columbia’s results from staff survey are similar to Rolla’s campus, with lots of the same issues. New Vice President for Human Resources is Elizabeth (Betsy) Rodriquez. Committee is now meeting every other month. Still working on the top 5 issues and working on an action plan for each. Other campuses have a SC endowed fund for scholarship. This may be an idea for Missouri S&T to do the same with excess funds.

Home Page – Updated with last day to order staff day shirts as May 15.
